Meet Heidi and Jade, the mother-daughter team and founders of Wrapped in Light.

Jade

Founder

My strong passion for fashion and textiles fuels my creativity. The process of envisioning a design from inspirations to bringing it to life with exquisite fabrics brings me immense joy. Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing others appreciate and love those creations!

I attend short courses whenever possible, covering a diverse range of topics to broaden my knowledge base.

Education

  • Advanced Diploma of Fashion Design

  • Attended master classes at Central St Martins in London

  • Short course on understanding the nuances of women's body shapes and the special considerations required to design accordingly.

Heidi

Founder

My lifelong passion for fashion, art, and painting has led me to this delightful intersection where I can blend all three. As a result, I create original painted prints on exquisite cotton and silk fabrics. Additionally, I have acquired expertise in sewing through a costume design course at QUT and completed a soft furnishing course. I have a keen eye for detail and an innate sense of styling, which makes me a valuable asset during photoshoots.

Hand-painted designs

Beautifully Broken

This is an original hand-painted design, used on some garments of the Wrapped In Light ‘Beautifully Broken’ collection. The design is inspired by Kintsugi, a Japanese art form of broken pottery that is mended using gold lacquer. Kintsugi teaches us to see the beauty that is crated after being broken by utilising the shattered pieces to create something new.

Blooms

This original design is painted in water colours and is inspired by the beautifully bright colours of spring. It is featured on several garments of our ‘Blooms’ collection, representing femininity and uniqueness.

  • We are a small mother-daughter-run business. Everything that you see in our shop is made by us. We not only design the garments but also the prints on the fabrics. Every item is made to order and carefully sewn by Jade, founder and owner of Wrapped in Light, in our beautiful Brookfield studio.
